Here Is How It Works

1.

Pre-Test Consultation

Jared will sit down with you to discuss your health goals, take measurements of your body (height, weight, BMI), and answer any questions you may have about our process. 

2.

Resting Metabolic Test

You’ll measure your resting metabolic rate, i.e. how fast your body burns energy. We’ll also assess your lung health, posture, cognition, and diabetes risk. All of this happens as you lie down breathing into an oxygen mask.

3.

Active Metabolic Test

Your active metabolic rate tells us your maximum fitness threshold as well as your heart rate zones and your ability to recover. To get the test results, you’ll wear an oxygen mask while running on a treadmill (if you’re injured we’ll use a stationary bike or rowing machine).

4.

Nutrition Questionnaire

You’ll fill out a quick questionnaire on about your diet, answering questions like what foods you love (and don’t love), when you eat, whether or not you fast, what allergies you have, what supplements you take, and more.

5.

Get Your Results

In 1-2 business days, you receive an in-depth test report and access to your personalized training regimen and meal plan (provided via Health Hub and TrueCoach), as well as information about scheduling your final 60-minute consultation to go over the results and recommendations.

FAQ

  • To maximize the effectiveness and accuracy of the test, we ask that you:

    • Fast, except from plain water for at least 5 hours prior to testing.

    • No caffeine, tobacco or stimulating drinks for at least 5 hours prior to testing.

    • No intense exercise or any exercise of more than 1 hour 24h prior to testing

    • Resting test can be conducted any time of the day, however any later retest should be conducted at the same time of the day as the initial assessment.

    • Continue medications as usual.

    • Arrive at least 10 min prior to the test so that you can be well relaxed before we begin.

  • Keep in mind that to get an accurate reading of your Active Metabolic Rate, you’ll be running at high intensity for about 10 minutes, which means your heart rate will go up. The other parts of the test are perfectly safe for everyone, regardless of their health, but if you’re unsure about getting your heart rate up, it’s best to consult with your doctor before starting the test.

  • The only equipment you’ll be interacting with is a treadmill (or, if you’re injured, a stationary bike or rowing machine), and a PNOÉ, a type of oxygen mask that’s widely considered the gold standard in metabolic analysis.

    That said if you’re able to take both, having all of the data does give us the full picture of where your body is at and what changes you can make to reach your health goals.
